All psychologists employed by CPS have been Headteachers of special or mainstream schools, heads of Local Authority Psychology Services or of Student Inclusion and Support Services.
All have presented key note speeches and seminars at national conferences and are experienced and skilful trainers in their specialist field.
Specialist skills include Behaviour Management for children with ASD and SEBD, working with Looked After Children, learning strategies for students with severe learning difficulties, counselling skills for Loss and Trauma including Bereavement and PTSD, motivational strategies for students and staff and effective communication skills.
All CPS psychologists are appropriately qualified, are on the HPC register or have Chartered Psychologist status and are CRB checked. CPS currently employs 6 psychologists who have a range of expertise to meet the needs of all the children we work with.
Charlie was the youngest Headteacher in the West Midlands to run SEBD schools for teenagers who had been excluded from the mainstream system. Twenty five years later he is now a Consultant Child and Educational Psychologist providing hands-on services to the National Autistic Society, Mainstream Academies and Health and Prison services on working effectively with students with complex needs – especially those with Autism and damaging behaviour difficulties.
